Work-Ethic?

Inspired by the social thought of John Paul II, we aim to be where international solidarity meets local self-sufficiency--where there is a global work-ethic that is truly ethical. We promote self-sufficiency, the sense that individuals and groups should look first to themselves to solve their own problems, doing their jobs with attention to detail, persistence, and ambition. And we promote solidarity, first locally, then internationally: we want everyone to pitch in to solve common problems and help the needy.

The work-ethic is so fundamental to development that, if people don't live by it, the social and economic programs aimed at them are doomed to failure. The members of the boards and staffs of civil society organizations / CSOs which provide leadership as well as services to so many people, are the key to spreading this ideal ... they should be the first to practice it.

The Global Work-Ethic Fund tries to live by this code. It also adheres to the code of ethics of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, by far the largest body of fund raisers in the world.
