Global Network of Funds

The Global Solidarity Fund / GSF is the hub of the network of Local Solidarity Funds / LSFs. GSF serves them by:

  • Encouraging a shared commitment to a common goal;
  • Educating philanthropic investors about the management, governance, and fund raising of their Funds and investee organizations;
  • Facilitating the exchange of experience and knowledge among Funds;
  • Providing financial support to Funds in very poor countries; and
  • Coordinating the global network and promoting the concept of Local Solidarity Funds.
The Global Solidarity Fund's purposes are to:
  • Strengthen small civil society organizations that follow the social thought of Pope John Paul II and can have a powerful impact on their communities;
  • Recruit new and experienced philanthropists who want to work with such organizations; and
  • Give these men and women ongoing help to be engaged, well informed, and effective in their philanthropy.
From 1997 to 2002, Social Venture Partners, the organization that our new GSF emulates, grew its network from one person to 1,500. They contributed $14 million during those six years. Ask us about beginning or joining a Local Solidarity Fund.
